Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Originality Standards: This article has not been published elsewhere, nor has it been sent to a publisher for publication.
  • Language: Manuscript is prepared in the English language.
  • File Format: The manuscript has been written in Microsoft Word format and does not exceed 3 MB size.
  • Article Length: Article length is between 3.000 (min) and 5.000 (max) words including references, tables and appendices. Number of pages in the article is not more than 20.
  • Article Title: The length of the Article Title is not more than 10 words.
  • Abstract: The length of the abstract is not more than 150 words.
  • Keywords: Maximum 5 keywords have been identified.
  • Font Type, Size and Spacing: Lucida Sans Unicode font with the size of 10 and single line spacing.
  • Page Margins: Margin standards are applied as 1 inch (2.54 cm) on the top, bottom, the right and left.
  • Headings: First level headings are capitalized and the lower rank headings are italics. The sizes for first level headings and lower rank headings are 16 and 12, respectively.
  • Tables and Figures: Tables and Figures contain Titles and Numbers. Figures are in tif, .jpeg, or .bmp formats with at least 300dpi resolution and minimum 10cm wide.
  • Article Format: The Article Format and References are prepared in APA style.

Author Guidelines

Authors should submit articles that have not been previously published, except the articles previously published in any other language than English. Authors should submit only articles that have not also been submitted to other journals.

Language : Authors should submit manuscripts in English language with English abstracts of no more than 150 words. Papers should be written in a concise manner. Manuscripts with poor English will be sent back to the author for correction. Word Limit: 3000-5000.

Review Process Stages:

Authors send manuscripts to the Managing Editor. The Managing Editor introduces the manuscript to the Editorial Board members.

Articles selected for preliminary consideration by the Editorial board will be sent to subject matter experts for review. Names of authors and reviewers are kept confidential.

The experts revise the manuscript, make comments or/and notes, give recommendations, if necessary. As soon as the revision process is finished, the manuscript is sent back to authors to make further changes, if necessary.

The author sends the finally revised manuscript to the Managing Editor. The Editorial Board members look through the article to ensure that the manuscript is revised according to the recommendations, comments, and notes.

After successful peer review, the manuscript is sent to editorial and formatting reviews.

Style Requirements:

Archaeology: The Scientific Journal of the University of Georgia has adopted the publication style manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) as the guide to follow when submitting manuscripts.

Any paper that does not follow APA style will not be considered.
