Topography of Nokalakevi in the 1st Millennium BC
Abstract
The village of Nokalakevi is located in Senaki Municipality, on the left bank of the Tekhuri River, 16 km from the city of Senaki. The archaeological site of Nokalakevi (also known as Tsikhegoji and Archaeopolis) is one of the most significant and complex monuments located within the territory of Georgia. Surrounded by a defensive wall approximately 3 km in length, the area of the ancient city covers up to 15 hectares.
