Metal Arrowheads from Samshvilde

Authors

Abstract

The article discusses the history of the arrowhead (zro) in Georgia. The oldest type dates to the Paleolithic and was made of flint. In the Early Bronze Age, arrowheads were made from flint, wood, obsidian, bone, bronze, and iron. Their use among the Colchians is less evident, while Xenophon notes that among South Georgian tribes, only the Kardukhi primarily used the bow and arrow as a weapon.
