The 2019 excavation report carried out by Paravani Archaeological Expedition
Abstract
The article presents the results of archaeological excavations conducted in 2019 near Lake Paravani, in the area of the village of Akhali Khulgumo. The expedition was organized following the 2018 remote-sensing survey that revealed numerous archaeological sites. It focuses on the study of a kurgan, associated with a ritual pathway — the first such case recorded near Paravani. Additionally, Late Medieval material was collected from a farmland plot in Khulgumo, and two test trenches were excavated at a settlement near Shaori Mountain. The article summarizes all the 2019 fieldwork results in these areas.
