Newly discovered stone industry of Samshvilde
Abstract
The paper examines the chipped stone material discovered in the “Sioni District” of the Samshvilde settlement, Tetritskaro Municipality. The settlement is located 3 km from the village of Samshvilde, strategically positioned on a high elongated promontory rising at the confluence of the Chivchava and Khram rivers. The promontory consists of a rocky massif formed by 150–200 meter high basaltic outcrops, extending from west to east.
